Liebe Lehrende der TU Dortmund,
das Sommersemester 2026 ist gestartet. Mit dieser Rundmail möchte ich Sie über aktuelle Themen zur Digitalisierung in der Lehre an der TU Dortmund informieren. Ein Fokus liegt dabei auf dem Thema KI und den Möglichkeiten der Integration von KI in Studium und Lehre.
# Save the date: Lernen, Lehren und Prüfen mit KI
Am 6. Juli 2026 findet ab 13:00 Uhr bis ca. 17:30 Uhr im Rudolf-Chaudoire-Pavillon die Präsenzveranstaltung „Lernen, Lehren und Prüfen mit KI“ statt. Die Veranstaltung bietet einen Überblick über aktuelle Entwicklungen zum Einsatz von KI in Studium und Lehre an der TU Dortmund und schafft zugleich Raum für Austausch und Diskussion unter Lehrenden. Neben einer Keynote von Malte Persike (RWTH Aachen) erwartet Sie u. a. eine Poster-Galerie mit Ideen und Konzepten für den Umgang mit KI in Studium und Lehre. Weitere Informationen und der Aufruf zur Beteiligung an der Poster-Galerie folgen Mitte Mai per Rundmail sowie auf www.digitale-lehre.tu-dortmund.de.
# Campus-KI
Bereits seit Januar 2025 können alle Mitglieder der TU Dortmund über das Interface von Campus-KI kostenlos und anonym ChatGPT nutzen (Meldung zu Campus-KI). Seit November steht neben den ChatGPT-Modellen GPT 5.3 und GPT 5 mit GPT-OSS 120 B auch ein leistungsstarkes, offenes Sprachmodell zur Verfügung, welches auf Servern in NRW läuft (Meldung des ITMC). # OPENmoodle
Zum Start des Sommersemesters 2026 ist auch das OPENmoodle der TU Dortmund gestartet und ab sofort unter https://open.moodle.tu-dortmund.de erreichbar. Mit OPENmoodle besteht nun die Möglichkeit, Lern- und Lehrmaterialien in offenen Moodle-Kursen – auch ohne Registrierung der Nutzenden – zur Verfügung zu stellen. Am 5. Mai 2026 findet um 14 Uhr eine Online-Infoveranstaltung für alle Interessierten als Zoom-Meeting (Link) statt. Alle Informationen finden Sie im ServicePortal.
# Auslaufen der Camtasia-Campuslizenz
Mit Ablauf des 30. Juni 2026 endet die Campuslizenz für die Werkzeuge Camtasia und Snagit. Danach ist die Software mit dieser Lizenz nicht mehr nutzbar. Die Nutzungszahlen rechtfertigen die Bereitstellung einer Campuslizenz nicht mehr. Weitere Informationen zu Alternativen finden Sie in Kürze im ServicePortal.
# Digitale Barrierefreiheit
Im Rahmen des Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) finden vom 19. bis 21. Mai 2026 zahlreiche kurze Workshops zu verschiedenen Aspekten der barrierefreien Lehre statt. Die TU Dortmund beteiligt sich an der gemeinsamen Aktion der Kompetenzzentren digitale Barrierefreiheit.nrw, ILIAS.nrw und Moodle.NRW mit den NRW-Hochschulen. Eine Übersicht über die Workshops und Zugangslinks finden Sie auf der GAAD-Aktionsseite. Darüber hinaus bietet das Kompetenzzentrum digitale Barrierefreiheit.nrw im Sommersemester an jedem ersten Donnerstag im Monat eine einstündige Veranstaltung zu Themen der barrierefreien Lehre an. # Offene Sprechstunde
Die offene Sprechstunde für alle Fragen zur digitalen Unterstützung in der Lehre findet weiterhin täglich zwischen 14 und 15 Uhr per Zoom statt. Zusätzlich bietet das ITMC offene, hybride Sprechstunden am Vormittag an.

Dear teachers at TU Dortmund University:
The 2026 summer semester has begun. With this email, I would like to inform you about current topics related to digitalization of teaching at TU Dortmund University. A particular focus is on artificial intelligence (AI) and the possibilities for integrating AI into teaching and learning.
# Save the date: Learning, Teaching, and Assessment with AI
On 6 July 2026, from 1:00 pm to approx. 5:30 pm, the face-to-face event “Learning, Teaching, and Assessment with AI” will take place in the Rudolf Chaudoire Pavilion. Please note that the event will be conducted in German. The event offers an overview of current developments regarding the use of AI in teaching and learning at TU Dortmund University and also provides a space for exchange and discussion among faculty members. In addition to a keynote address by Malte Persike (RWTH Aachen), attendees can look forward to a poster gallery featuring ideas and concepts for integrating AI into teaching and learning. Further information and a call for participation in the poster gallery will be sent out in mid-May via email and posted on www.digitale-lehre.tu-dortmund.de.
# Campus-KI
Starting in January 2025, all members of TU Dortmund University are able to use ChatGPT for free and anonymously via the Campus-AI interface (news about Campus-AI) In addition to the ChatGPT models GPT 5.3 and GPT 5, GPT-OSS 120 B, a powerful open-source language model hosted on servers in North Rhine-Westphalia is also available. # OPENmoodle
OPENmoodle at TU Dortmund University launched at the start of the summer semester 2026 and is now available at https://open.moodle.tu-dortmund.de. OPENmoodle now makes it possible to provide learning and teaching materials in open Moodle courses—even without user registration. An online information session for all interested persons will take place on Tuesday, 5 May 2026 at 2:00 p.m. as a Zoom meeting (Link). Please note that the meeting will be conducted in German. All information can be found on the ServicePortal.
# Expiration of the Camtasia campus license
The campus license for Camtasia and Snagit will expire on 30 June 2026. After that date, the software can no longer be used with this license. User numbers no longer justify providing a campus license. Further information on alternatives will be available shortly on the ServicePortal.
# Digital Accessibility
As part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), numerous short workshops on various aspects of accessible teaching will take place from 19 to 21 May 2026. TU Dortmund University is participating in this joint initiative organized by the Competence Centers for digital Accessibility (barrierefreiheit.dh.nrw), Moodle.NRW, ILIAS.nrw in collaboration with universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. An overview of the workshops and access links can be found on the GAAD campaign page. In addition, the Competence Center for digital Accessibility offers a one-hour event on topics related to accessible teaching every first Thursday of the month during the summer semester. Further information can be found on the website for the “Accessible Teaching” short workshop series.
# Open consultation hour
The open consultation hours for all questions about digital support in teaching will continue to take place daily between 2 and 3 p.m. via Zoom. In addition, the ITMC offers open, hybrid consultation hours in the morning.
